I&#8217;ve seen it through the years, as man has tried to tame the inlet. Today I heard about a fishing vessel stranded on a shoal up there. It was bone chilling just to go out on the catwalk to get a better vantage point. The Coast Guard Station at Oregon Inlet stood by with their 47 foot motor lifeboat.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px Futura;\"><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-423\" title=\"_MH06225\" src=\"http:\/\/photoblog.michaelhalminski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/MH06225.jpg\" alt=\"_MH06225\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" srcset=\"http:\/\/photoblog.michaelhalminski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/MH06225.jpg 500w, http:\/\/photoblog.michaelhalminski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/MH06225-400x265.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px Futura;\"><em>This being just another incident of curiosity on the Outer Banks, I hope no one is injured in this mishap. I also am hopeful that this boat can be saved in tact. The &#8220;Sheila Rene&#8221; was returning to Wanchese with a recent catch of fish, said to be about 10,000 pounds when it ran up on a shoal.
