For the past few years, driving over the old Bonner Bridge, we witnessed the construction progress, going together like a humongous tinker toy.<\/p>\n<p>Last Saturday, NCDOT opened the new thoroughfare just for pedestrian and bike traffic. Dozens of folks had already begun the 2.8 mile trek.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/photoblog.michaelhalminski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/bikes.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With a 30 mile an hour breeze at their backs, bikers hardly even needed to peddle.<\/p>\n<p><a
