Spring has sprung, as I&#8217;m drawn to nature. That\u2019s where I\u2019ve always been most comfortable.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The greenery rejuvenates around me. Wildflowers are blooming in fields and roadsides. The air is sweet, and birds are nesting.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, I heard about a pair of green herons building a nest in Buxton Woods. Bird photography has long been one of my passions, so I decided to see if there was any potential making photographs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/photoblog.michaelhalminski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/twig.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4973\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The nest was built in a willow tree surrounded by water, growing out of a pond.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/photoblog.michaelhalminski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/display.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4976\" src=\"http:\/\/photoblog.michaelhalminski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/display.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"401\" srcset=\"http:\/\/photoblog.michaelhalminski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/display.jpg 600w, http:\/\/photoblog.michaelhalminski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/display-400x267.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The adults share the nesting process, including incubation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/photoblog.michaelhalminski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/day-old.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4977\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The eggs hatched on May 16th.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/photoblog.michaelhalminski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/six-days.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4978\" src=\"http:\/\/photoblog.michaelhalminski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/six-days.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"401\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In six days, the chicks had tripled in size, and turned into voracious eaters.<\/p>\n<p><a
